Kapoho Bay
This is one of the final enclosures of a quick-turnaround I designed for a team in Intel Labs that develops neuromorphic compute devices. The underlying Loihi architecture is part of Intel's efforts to further artificial intelligence research.
This is a CNC milled enclosure that was built to allow daisy-chaining of multiple of these USB sticks via a set of SCSI type connectors. Over twenty of these PCB devices and the enclosures were handed off to researchers at the Telluride Research Science Center in 2018. Thirty more have been deployed in 2019 to researchers at the US Navy and several other academic institutions in the US and abroad.
